Is Spring ...what is happening.

It has been 3 months since I last post anything here. I'm trying to figure out what to do in with my life beside being a mom and a house wife. I guess I really want to do more than just that. I'm volunteering at school in 2nd grade class, I really enjoy doing that. I'm also in the process of applying for a new job as a subs. I'd some opportunities to take some great photos in couple of the kids birthday parties. It was fun and most of the photos turn out great. Becoming a pro photographer is still a dream for me, and it might never come true but I think I can have fun dreaming.

This past winter I quilted a baby quilt for a new baby girl, and also couple of baby quilt that I wish to sell. That is why I started another blog call Homemade Quilt. I'm hoping I can post my new quilts in the future and share with others.

That was what happening in my life for the past months. I have to end this post with a nice photo.

This is the new quilt I made for the new baby girl.

White Christmas...my first

Merry Christmas 2010. This is the first time for me get to see snow falling on Christmas day. It was pretty when the snow was coming down and you can feel the 'mood'. But it was not much fun when we had to ride home in the snow. I'm just glad I was not driving. :)

We only had about 4 inches of snow, and the road was all cleared up after 2 days, but we still have some snow in the yard right now. Here are few photos I took the day after Christmas.

The icicles were hanging down from the gutter.

The view from my front door. I think it was pretty with everything covered with snow.

Part of the back yard, the snow was covered up my small vegetable garden.

My house, covered with snow.

Snow accumulating on top of the bushes.

My other interest...Quilting

My quilting season is starting!!! The time changed couple weeks ago, day light is getting shorter, and the weather is getting cooler. It is the best time to stay in the house and making some quilt.

This is a baby quilt top I've just finished making it. It is call 'Card Trick Quilt'. I still need to get some backing and the batting to finish this quilt. Anybody out there likes it? I'm thinking about put it out there for sale.

October...Halloween

October just ended few days ago. Halloween was last weekend. The children had fun trick or treating in our subdivision, and they have a lot of candies to proof it. I guess this year my children decided want to have some scary costumes and I made 2 of their costumes.

I didn't make this costume. My daughter decided she want to get a scary mask, a cape and wear all black.

This is one of the costumes I made. This costume is call Mr. Rattles I found it in the Family Fun site. The site didn't show how to make the bones for hands, so I taped some cut out papers on the gloves. I also painted some glow in the dark paste on all the cut out bones. It looked pretty cool in the dark. :)

We called this 'ghost with a mustache'. This is a pretty easy costume to make, and you can find it in Kaboose site call Ghost Costume. I changed a little bit on how to make the eyes. I used a net I had to cover up the eye holes so I don't have to paint his face black around his eyes. I cut out couple of 'O' shape out of black felt and stitched them around the eyes and I added the mustache because my son thought it was cool.

3 small jack-o'-lantern. My children drew out their design and I carved it out for them. These jack-o'-lantern didn't last too long because I used small pumpkins and I dug out the inside to make a pumpkin pie. I found out I don't really like pumpkin pie, I think the sweet potato pie taste better. I think next year I'm going to get some bigger pumpkins and not going to make any pie out of them.
